Geelong to Canberra: 20th June- 1st July

The country town of Birchip in Victoria’s Malle region was the first stop on our road trip up to Cairns. We spent the weekend with Nick and Maddie who showed us round the area in Nick’s family VW kombi van.

After Birchip we headed to Echuca and followed the Murray River to Yarrawonga where we spent our first night in the Tarago.

The following morning we headed to Beechworth where we drove around a scenic gorge and visited a few view points before finishing off the morning at Bridge Road Brewers for a tasting paddle. We spent the next couple of days in Bright, the weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get up to much. On our second day we did the Canyon walk and visited the Bright Brewery. After a lot of rain in Bright we decided to head straight to Canberra to spend time with Fraser and Annalisse. Highlights included mini-golf, Bentspoke and Capital breweries, hiking Mt Ainsley, watching lots of footy, watching medieval role play next to the lake (Chugga) whilst drinking wine and visiting the Canberra Inn pub.
